[Eleanor is sitting at a small table in her bedroom which is still at mutanthaus I believe, her phone resting on the far side of the table to film her. There's a small Christmas tree on the floor behind her, with a little pile of torn up wrappings under it. But her phone is mostly focusing on what is on the table, which appears to be a large, Read more... )

...Use it? How would you use such a thing...?

Like this.

[She picks up the syringe and taps the top of the container, where there is a little hole to shove it in and draw out some of the contents. But she doesn't actually do that, and after a moment she sets the syringe down again.]

Then I would inject it into my arm or wrist.

[welp, that's definitely a bit concerning.]

So you don't know what it is... Would it be risky to introduce it to your blood?

Maybe. I'm not sure. It was done several times to me before.

The real issue is just not knowing what it does, so I won't know what the immediate effects will be.

Yes. There's one of these that allows you to summon swarms of bees.

I always found it very...unsettling.

[ Olivia's frowning at the camera, looking both concerned and somewhat interested by this. ] So if I understand this right, you inject that and it gives you some kind of... abilities?

Basically.

The chemicals can rewrite genetic coding and grant...enhancements, for a lack of a better word.

I was unconscious when they did it to me the first time. I understand it can be rather unpleasant.

[ She grimaces a little. ] I would imagine.

Maybe you should contact one of the scientists here. They might be able to run some tests, give you some idea of what you're dealing with...

Mm...[Eleanor looks rather uncomfortable for a moment.]

I'm not...really sure I'd want anyone here understanding this. I don't even like it, honestly. [She turns the phylactery absently on the table, twisting it around slowly.]

It destroyed an entire city, I would hate for it to get loose here, if someone figured out how to recreate it...

I generally object to people injecting themselves with strange substances.

It's not a strange substance, it's a Plasmid.

A so far unidentified plasmid.

And what, pray tell, is a "plasmid"?

Genetic engineering in a bottle.

They're what gave me my powers.

They look like crystals.

I...suppose.

They are't, though. It's glass.

[She taps the side of the syringe with a fingernail, and it tings.]

...Sand that is cooked very highly so it melts into a clear, malleable substance.

You've never heard of glass?
