This is so very. Unlike him.
Then again, much has changed. Typically, a Cybertronian would not become so different in a short span of time. Nearly two years is hardly anything. But he recognizes the factors, in hindsight; becoming human has forced him to recognize emotions. Defining them or controlling them is virtually impossible right now, but he tries.
Regardless, if one had inquired him approximately two years ago that he would become friends with a traitor like Skyfire, he would have probably coldly shot the spoken suggester.
Now Skyfire, his friend, is gone. Soundwave is not lost, but he expects it'll be harder to approach his own emotions and understand them without Skyfire's help. That and he isn't... as charismatic, he reluctantly admits to himself. People skills he does not have. He will have no choice if he wishes to leave this station with Shockwave.
After that, he has no idea. He wants to find his Cassetticons, he knows that much. But what then?
What if he loses Shockwave, too?
The thought terrifies him, in a way that he's rarely ever felt. It makes him feel sick, and he clutches the red scarf in his hands tighter. No, he will not lose him. He would kill to keep Shockwave.
But right now--
He slams down the small pole into the ground, taking a moment to be sure that its positioning is proper. Then, he ties the scarf to the pole.
Backing up, Soundwave salutes the humble memorial.
Then, he speaks in Cybertronian; a series of mechanical sounding clicks and whirrs, in a completely monotone, unknown to most ears -- only those fluent, naturally, have a clue what he is saying.
"FAREWELL, SCIENTIST SKYFIRE. STATUS: HONORED HAVING SERVED WITH YOU."
