I've had many of these same thoughts myself, especially how I thought I used to be so good and so confident, and now I've lost all that confidence. What I think it is is an excess of education. The more you learn about writing, the more you realize you really knew nothing at all. In actuality, I guarantee you that you're a lot better now, you've just lost the arrogance that all of us should lose. But you've got the right idea--write, then edit. Screw the editor in your head and just get it out. I'm with you all the way, though. I'm graduating soon too with nothing under my belt but Flagler's literary journal and a few stories rotting on my hard drive. But you're trying. You're submitting. That's the first step. Whether it's crap or not, you're trying and that counts for everything because eventually someone will pick you out of a stack and give you a chance. Just keep at it.
