I'm not sure...but I think it's kinda like enemy of the state. Unless you give them a good reason, or you have something they want...they are prolly gonna leave you alone. That might not be true but its what I've heard. If that's true i dont think i would object to that, being an upright citizen.

your representation of the issue is far too leftist. the mere fact that you are getting your information from the nightly news shows the apparent bias in your understanding. it's blatantly obvious that just about every news network except fox news is liberal. the FBI and our government and such have always had the ability and want to find those who would do us harm, the patriot act merely makes it a tad easier for them to go after the truly dangerous ones. it's not a free-for-all. and the only reason one would truly worry would be if one had something to hide. some have brought up the privacy issue, but nothing nowadays is private. and many, americans especially, have become so selfish that they believe that their own personal well-beings are more important than the well-being of the nation as a whole. wouldn't you rather sacrifice a tad bit (at no harm to yourself) for the good of the country? that's why it's called the patriot act. because it truly is the patriotic duty.

being a conservative myself i hate to say this...
but the patriot act issue was dicussed in debate during the beginning of the year so i'll have you know (because i had to research this topic) that the act actually makes it so that they have no need for due process if you are suspected as a terrorist, basically its the american version of the heretic inquisitions

Not disagreeing with TJ....

But I'd like tp point out that they dont just suspect ANYONE to be a terrorist. This isnt like commie or witch hunts where anyone can be a suspect. The target is usually a radical muslim commmunicating frequently with cell phones and wiring money and such to other locations. Unless you're muslim...you have almost nothing to worry about. Being honest as I can here...maybe God is using this to bring them to Christ...who knows.
