This is a very tangible (ouch fire burns!) example of why the Pot Prohibition in this country is doing more harm than good. The Mexican Cartels, I think everyone can agree, are dangerous, but there are plenty of farms in NATIONAL forests- in cases where we might be talking private property I might get defensive, but gang run farms on American ( Read more... )

Legalizing pot is merely getting the large brewing companies to think it benefits them. Currently any legislation to legalize is stopped by those guys who would rather keep making the big bucks on beer. If they were to get involved they would have the lobbyist resources to get it legal I think, however to want to do that we'd probably have to increase restrictions/make illegal alcohol drinking that cut into their bottom line. It would be fine with me, alcohol is way more dangerous than pot.

It is. Yes, I've heard the argument before that the primary reason cannabis is not legal is that Big Alcohol (& Big Tobacco) don't want it to be for the risk of it cutting into their market share...and that doesn't not make sense? No, while they may lobby against it currently and I don't think there'd be an easy way to convince brewers that it'd help them (Anheuser-Busch/Budweiser is no longer an American owned American Institution btw ( ... )
