Very curious.

Lucius "Looshie" Malfoy has decided to send his condolences to me via his latest "live"journal entry. I do not know why he was reading my journal so closely that he remembered my precise phrasings a few days later. Perhaps he is remembering what women who aren't made of silicone are like. It is a shame that we make such great mistakes when we are younger. It is so hard to regain your youth, isn't it, Looshie? I notice you aren't looking much better than your wife these days by way of the circles 'round your eyes. It's so convenient what they can do with saline injections these days.

I see that Severus "Don't call me Sevvie" Snape is still making his rounds in a standard fascist fashion. All is well.

I heard some fascinating gossip about Sibyll Trelawney from Hooch the other day, as we shared our morning cigarette in Sevvie's office. (It is just terrible that you have to miss that in order to teach first years each morning, Severus. But we do find the most charming things in your desk drawers.) Apparently, Sibyll was caught snogging in my Astronomy Tower when she was a fourth year here. I don't even want to think about how many decades have passed since. Hooch assures me that this is absolutely true, and pulled out a copy of Sibyll's permanent record to prove it. There it is, in an entry for February of 19?? (funnily enough, the year is blotted out everywhere on her record): Received detention for groping in Astronomy Tower.

If Sibyll has been moping about the North Tower all this time just to reminisce about her non-existent youth, I think it's safe to say that she has dwelled on the past long enough. It's certainly time that she was replaced, don't you think? After all, the Divine Arts are such old ones. I doubt we need them anymore. Astronomy is the now.

I had a rather late night grading disastrous papers last night. If I hear from one more Muggle-born student that the Milky Way isn't as good as the Milky Ways they had back home, I swear I'll rid this school of its chocolate supply.

And now, I've to prepare for late-night lessons with the Ravenclaws. Oh, rapture, for it is those of wit and learning. Well, I find them witty, at any rate. Such unkempt appearances always make me laugh. Something Narcissa Malfoy should know a thing or two about.
