I got this survey from KT and a couple other people. Seemed a good way to generally sum up the year, though I'll probably do a top shows/CDs/etc. list at some point as well.
1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before? Moved into my first apartment. Started dating a fucking awesome guy. Took a random roadtrip. Enjoyed my summer job. Lots of things.
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I didn't make any last year. This year, I have one and only resolution: gnomes around the world!!!!
3. Did anyone close to you give birth? not that I can remember
4. Did anyone close to you die? no, thankfully
5. What countries did you visit? sadly, only this one
6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003? direction. motivation. a diploma.
7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? I tried hard to think of one, but none really stood out in my mind.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? starting to open up to people again
9. What was your biggest failure? my high achievements in procrastination
10. Did you suffer illness or injury? I spent a majority of the fall semester suffering from sicknesses brought on by little kid germs. Yuck.
11. What was the best thing you bought? a ticket to see Superdrag in Nashville
12. Whose behavior merited celebration? various people who have helped out lately
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? America's. not everything, of course, but a good bit of it.
14. Where did most of your money go? rent, food, textbooks, and frivolous stuff that I could really have done without
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? finding somebody that I like and having it reciprocated

ii. thinner or fatter? about the same. probably a bit fatter.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of? talking to people
19. What do you wish you'd done less of? frittering away my time doing mindless things and being unhealthy
20. How will you be spending Christmas? I spent it with my family and it was really good
22. Did you fall in love in 2003? just about
23. How many one-night stands? zero
24. What was your favorite TV program? The O.C. and Gilmore Girls
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year? not that I can think of. I don't really "hate" anyone.
26. What was the best book you read? probably the new Elinor Lipman book, but I've read a lot of great books this year
27. What was your greatest musical discovery? I'll just say Sondre Lerche, even though I "discovered" him in fall 2002 (he's just that good, haha)
28. What did you want and get? good grades (despite the procrastination!), among other things
30. What was your favorite film of this year? probably L'Auberge Espagnole
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? it was my 21st and I spent it at work and visiting my dad in the hospital
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? less worries (yeah, not a "one thing". too bad!)
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003? teacher-clothes two days of the week, variations of jeans and t-shirts the other five
34. What kept you sane? the people I'm close to. music. my apartment.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? probably Adam Brody
36. What political issue stirred you the most? lots of issues nationally. locally, the "Chief" issue at my school.
37. Who did you miss? Lisa from Australia. people from the past. lots of people.
