Aw, I've heard some good things about Toronto, but maybe it is a city that needs to be visited in better seasons/weather. :V ( ... )

I think Toronto probably has a lot going for it, I perhaps just didn't get to see the best bits. It was still enjoyable though.

Ahaha I'm into the looseleaf myself, it's all Lupicia and T2 here for me! I've seen some of the Adagio tea stuff too, god they know how fans work. XD I WASN'T AWARE OF THEIR FF7 ONES THOUGH I MIGHT NEED TO LOOK INTO THAT.

I think Casa Loma is gothic revival architecture? It got a bit popular late 1800s/early 1900s so perhaps the source of the similarity!

LOL at your church story, growing up we had a extremely plain sort of cathedral but I still spent many many weekends picturing Spiderman and/or Jackie Chan and/or Jedi having epic fights bouncing around the tall ceilings. You have to work with what you've got!

<3 Your novel comments are always welcome!

Intriguing! I had no idea about any of that. See, I did ask some locals about interesting areas but they were poor sources for tips apparently! What I should have done is ask Ottawans who see it from a more frequent tourist perspective!

Wheeeeee I didn't know you came to Toronto! I'm in Toronto and yes it is a great place to live if you minus the weather. For example it is mid may and only 3 degrees right now and the flowerpots I left outside has frozen and died. But otherwise it's great, lots of fun restaurants, museums, artsy events and stuff. I'm surprised you didn't eat anything worth posting here, Toronto has some great food, though most of it is hidden away in hole in the wall places.

Also glad you had fun at Niagara. If you come back in the summer, there's all sorts of fun stuff like getting on a boat to see the falls from under there or walking in the tunnels behind the falls. Also that old building behind the falls is part of the powerplant station that uses Niagara Falls to generate energy.

Well hopefully you had fun in Canada, and NYC sounds like fun!

Your weather is so crazy, my deepest sympathies for your everlasting winter!

I didn't actually eat out much in Toronto, you're right! Probably because of the company I was keeping, my friend is a bit of a health food nut so we were stuck at those kinds of hippie health food stores and restaurants. Guess I missed out! :( Should have hit you up for ideas beforehand! Canada was still heaps of fun though. :)

Interesting! I'm headed to Toronto on Monday for a 6-week training course, so thanks for some of the tips. I'd been there for 2 weeks in the past on elective, so I've done the Royal museum and all that, but I'll have to check out Niagra Falls and the Bata museum for sure. :P

How many more months are you planning on travelling?

Nice! Hope you have a good time. You can probably find more (better) tips elsewhere though, by all accounts I definitely missed out on some stuff there. Let me know about any cool discoveries you make! :D

Travelling is actually over now (back in Oz), so no more months! As I mentioned at the start of this post and will probably extrapolate on a later one, I finally started getting a bit sick of living out of a suitcase so wandered on back. I probably have about two posts left and that's it for travel posts!
