So!  I started playing FFXIV recently.

I am so with you on the beauty. There are times when I'll just stop and stare at the landscape in front of me. Those limestone cliffs of Limosa.. <3 And I absolutely love the weather effects. Mining at night in a lightning storm with rain blowing at a 45 degree angle, or pushing my way through a sandstorm and changing headgear just so I have cloth to hide my nose and mouth under... I love that when it rains, my character looks wet. I love that I can visit Costa del Sol. I love my chocobo, and all the vanity pets. I love that if I wanted to I could have pink hair with green highlights and totally be a watermelon. I love that I can spend several weeks leveling non-combat professions, not touch combat at all, and feel as if every second was well spent.

... though, really, whoever designed weavers? We need a talk. Spinning wheels are for spinning yarn. Embroidery hoops are NOT for spinning yarn.

Haha well I'm not likely to leave mine since I do like my FC friends on there, but you're welcome to join me on Siren! What server are you playing on at the moment? What's your race/class?

The weather is awesome. I think my favourite however is the incredible clear nights - that starry sky! I was out in the desert in Thanalan once and I just sat there staring at it for ages. Definitely have to grab a screenshot of that sometime. I like that they've introduced that Sightseeing journal, I'll be making good use of it!

And you've summed up a lot of what I like about it too. Such a great game. *__*

The weaving drives me crazy! I crochet and knit rl, so I know how these work. So seeing my character go, "I'm gonna make pants! Hi Mr. Spinning wheel! Now I need some thread, hi Mr. Embroidery hoop!" makes me want to throttle someone.

I'm on Primal, Lamia at the moment, as the Bard Minerva Grey, level 37 human. I'm also Amarelle Ashendust, level 20 Conjurer/Arcanist, kitty person. I figure with her I keep the levels equal, switching classes each level up so I can go White Mage and Summoner. and maybe Scholar, too. There's also my level 7 thaurmage Burnya Uppe, elf. :D
.... yes. Altitis even in a game that supposedly minimises it. Just threw a baby pugilist on your server, Hera Green.

Heh, maybe you should have steered clear of that crafting class then! XD

LOL, so many alts! I went more the route of one character doing everything. Sinnatious Sone, feel free to friend request me when Hera is online sometime. :)

I so want to play that game. My computer would melt if I tried. I get hooked on mmorpgs so easily too, I'd be sucked in forever.

Yeah! We've had bad timing. Also it was totally dead for a while, because of Supanova I guess. I'm pretty close to 50 now though, hit 48 last night! Need to spend a bit more time on my crafting classes though so might not hit 50 for a few more days yet.

Haha no need to thank me, it's fun to help out with the lower level stuff! And I have more than enough alt classes now that could use a bit of dungeon running for levelling up.

I hadn't really thought about it but I could definitely ship that! A bit worried about Thancred really, haven't seen him for a while...

Battleping is massive, makes it soooo much easier. Wish I'd had it sooner!

Ohoho yes, that was a cool twist with Thancred. All the more emotional since I started in Ul'dah! Up to Castrum Meridianum now. Will be interesting running in my first eight-person dungeon!

BLM is still my favourite, but I've also really been enjoying Conjurer! Might go for a White Mage next - plus I love those short DF queues it has. :) I'm mostly chasing all those sweet cross-class skills though, heh.

DAMN! I gotta stalk you check this place more often. I've gotten at least 2 friends hooked on it and am currently in the long, boring process of getting Black Mage to 50. Because I really want that Archmage title and I need all 3 Disciples of Magic at 50 for that.

Get ready for mid-forties, when a loincloth and some leather straps have way better stats than anything you could make. And then leveling crafters, and then leveling gatherers...on second tought, you may have to set aside a couple of months to get into all end-game content. What server did you choose, anyways?

I actually haven't had that much scanty clothing armour in the magic classes! It's all been disciple of war stuff. End game seems pretty intense, I just hit Level 48 but the world opens up so much around 45 with the beast tribes and new dungeons and everything else.

Also yesterday I just discovered guildheists for the first time, so there's that too...

And there's just so much to DO after level 50 that the post-game feels like a whole other game: the next storyline quests, side story quests, Hard Mode Primals, Relic Weapons... Square Enix must really want our money...

And next week we get private rooms! And chocobo raising! And there's that promised Gold Saucer on the horizon...

Not that we play on the same server (I'm on Cactuar) but we could still potentially end up playing together via Duty Roulette or Guildhests ('cause they're cross-server)! :D

Anything super fun you've been doing recently in game? I've been running Hunts, which are simultaneously fun and SO AGGRAVATING when you're trying to run from one side of freaking West Than to the other and all you hear are shouts of:

"SERIOUSLY, DON'T PULL."
"accidentally pulled lol"
"STILL ON MY WAY, I'M COMING."
"dead whoops"
