firefox help

i'm having some problems with firefox and am looking for a little bit of help. it seems as if i've lost my quick search bar capabilities. all of my search engines have disappeared. when i go to add engines on firefox's website...i'll click on one of the choices to add it, but it won't add anything. can anyone help me out (michael, haha)? thanks!

All of your search engines have disappeared? What exactly does that mean? When you look where the quick search bar should be, is the textbox still there for entering the query term? Is there an icon with a drop-down on the left side of it? Are there entries in that drop-down and they just don't work, or is it empty?

Help me out with some info :)

Your profile is probably corrupted somehow, so we'll probably have to get you a new one, but let me know what exactly is going on.

sorry for the vagueness ;) yes, there is still a text box and there's an icon--it's a picture of a magnifying glass. when i click on the magnifying glass, a drop down box comes up to say "add engines". but that's all we got.

I'd just make a new profile. To do this, make sure firefox is closed, open Start->Run and type
