The mansion was decorated from head to toe in pink and red. Flowers from Cyril to his wife occupied every available space and although Road did like roses, this was a bit...much. She sniffled dramatically before leaning over and blowing her nose rather loudly onto the nearest piece of fabric...this being Tyki's coattail.
"Ugh...Did you really have to do that?" her uncle asked looking distastefully at the mess. Road cackled and returned to her tea. The Duke was away on business and Road would be lying if she said that she was disappointed that he wasn't here, but her father had promised her a surprise, so she supposed she could hold over until then. "Can't you do anything about her? She's supposed to be your daughter," Tyki addressed his older brother who sat across the table caught up in this elaborate game of house.
"She's adorable isn't she?" Cyril asked patting Road on the head before straightening her ribbon. "Ah, here, I almost forgot about this. Happy Valentine's Day, Road." He handed her a box with lace and ribbon and Road greedily tore it open to reveal speciality chocolates. Obviously pleased at this, she grinned and hopped off her chair to hug her father.
"Thank you, father~"
"Your mother has another surprise for you later, but you'll get that later, hmm?" Cyril replied referring to Patricia who was out visiting her friends.
"What about Tyki?"
Road cast a judging glance at her uncle who suddenly acted as if he were busy with his cigarette.
"What?" he asked nonchalantly. Road continued to give him a blank stare before he let out a sigh and stubbed out the cigarette and motioned for her to follow her. Road hurried to keep up with his long strides and before long the two stopped before a room and Tyki opened the door for her, ushering her inside. The only light came from the door and when Tyki stepped in after her and closed it, the whole room was shrouded in black.
"Tyki?" Road's voice bounced off the walls and with a snap, pointed candles lit the room, hovering in the space around them. Tyki stood in front of her with a bored look on his handsome face. "Well? Where's my present?"
Wordlessly, her uncle reached into his coat pocket and held out his gift. It took Road a moment to figure out what it was in the dim candlelight, but Tyki uttered it before she could figure it out.
"Cheater boy's heart. My gloves got dirty so you better appreciate it." He dropped it into her hands and Road peered at it in wonder. Of course, it was still beating, and the blood still glistened there, but it wasn't like she hadn't ever seen a human heart before. What made it matter was that it was Allen's heart.
Tyki waited for his neice's gushing thanks but frowned when he heard none. Instead before him was a Road with her nose buried in her sleeve.
"It smells. Couldn't you have gotten rid of the smell first?"
[Road wakes up and sighs a little bit. Although she won't admit it, she does kind maybe miss Tyki.]
