Sunlight streamed through the open window; white curtains edged with finely woven lace engaged in a lively jig at the encouragement of the sea’s salty breath. Longingly, Jack’s eyes turned to the window; a brilliant glimmer of cerulean peeked through the green foliage of the mighty Elm that impeded its sparkle. His legs were restless for the sea; ( Read more... )

Trapped Jack!! Is there anyone else would would make a worse patient? I suspected he'd be inclined to do self-harm rather than wait out the long recovery. His trepidation of crossing Lizze is probably the only thing keeping him in place. It could be rather staggering the extents his mind could go to in the spirit of breaking the boredom.

Leave it to Jack to corrupt a young mind as well. A boy's dream to have a famous pirate spinning yarns, and oh the stories that this pirate could spin. Wonder how long it takes before William is repeating them to his friends, and then getting into fights when they call him a liar? The poor boy just can't win, can he?

I like your stand-off between Jack and Lizzie. We don't often discuss it, but I would take Jack as being very stubborn, a strong counterbalance to Lizzie's fire. Something big better happen, or they will stay stuck in their tracks for ever.

It's good you're back and in stride! We're all winners for it.

I agree with your opinion about Jack. He is stubborn and therefore a good counter balance as opposed to Will (Senior's) gentle acceptance. Someone has to stand up to the Pirate King every once in a while--it builds humility.

Something big may happen in the coming chapters but for that, you'll have to keep reading. (Evil isn't it?)

Cheers and thanks for reading!

Jack and young William are an interesting pair. They're peas in a pod, but at the same time, wary of each other because they know they're practically equal opponents. As for Jack and Elizabeth...they may or may not care for each other. They're at an impasse which could lead to a breaking point. To find out, stay tuned!

Cheers and thanks for reading! :)
