Leave it to Jack to corrupt a young mind as well. A boy's dream to have a famous pirate spinning yarns, and oh the stories that this pirate could spin. Wonder how long it takes before William is repeating them to his friends, and then getting into fights when they call him a liar? The poor boy just can't win, can he?
I like your stand-off between Jack and Lizzie. We don't often discuss it, but I would take Jack as being very stubborn, a strong counterbalance to Lizzie's fire. Something big better happen, or they will stay stuck in their tracks for ever.
It's good you're back and in stride! We're all winners for it.
