Chapter 20

The unsuspecting front door rested peacefully in the afternoon sun, guarding the entrance to the Turner’s domicile in all its oak-made strength when the tip of a boot collided with its lower half in an act of gratuitous violence.

He had wanted to kick the door open, make something - anything - pay for the day’s unwillingness to surrender to a mighty ( Read more... )

Ah! How wonderful!

Oh, dear William with a temper like his mother and apparently the cunning as well. How sneaky of him to use Jack to do his schoolwork and how in character for Jack's reaction heh Lovely!

Anne, your pictures are absolutely gorgeous! :O They look so life like and were so beautifully done! Honestly, mine or nothing compared to yours and by that I swear. You should definitely share more :) As for my own, I have the picture all done but my scanner isn't working (a multicolored line keeps appearing across the page so I have to straighten it out) but once I get it all fixed or use someone else's, I'll have it up in a matter of two days or less.

Please update soon!!

Thanks, Gea :)

I wasn't too fond of my artwork, which is why I was a bit reluctant to post it at first. Jack, IMHO, doesn't look much like JD, and there is something wrong with the angle of Lizzie's head ... still, I put a lot of work in both, so I posted them anyway. I am glad you liked them, but they are by no means better than your works. Please tell your crappy scanner that I am mighty angry ;) - I cannot wait to see what you came up with for Chapter 19 (that was the one you did art for, wasn't it?).

As for the chapter, I suppose it has to be my favourite so far (at least from the ones I wrote myself); I feared some people might Jack think OOC, because of the piece of backstory which might appear out of context ... therefore, it really makes me happy you think that at least Jack's reaction was in-character :)

Thanks again,
Anne

Honestly, I think you did a fabulous job. I think it looks a lot like JD and though the angle is a bit off for Lizzie, it was a great shot and honestly something I certainly struggle with.

Haha I'll deliver your message to my pesky scanner! It's being quite a brute right now but hopefully I'll get it fixed. & yes my drawing is from chapter 19 :) I'm going to surprise you though heh

Happy Talk Like a Pirate Day! (If it's still the 19th where you two are) Savvy? :D

Hehe ... thanks, same to you (though it's already the 20th in good ol' Germany ... and it's mighty cold outside *shivers*)

I'm glad you liked the angst; we figured it was something still missing in this fic, so we added a small dose beneath all the humour!

Wonderful as always. While reading this chapter it made me smile many times.William was adorable a typical boy of his age and his temper is like his mother's.i like how they mace a deal with Jack.it made me giggle how he wants to be like Jack.:)
About Jack daydreaming:Reading about it I could see how much he needs to 'make up1 with Lizzy. He wants to hear her apologize to him and he needs to apologize to her.He needs her caressing, but the next thing I see is a typical male behaviour:Denying his true feelings, saying she1s not his type, too skinny, not that young etc.I can still understand his behaviour. He digged his feelings for Liz deep down ten years before IMO,just as Elizabeth did withher feelings toward Jack.
Please,please--I love your story so much--update soon.Thanks.Edith

Thanks as always, Ditte :)

William is a typical boy his age, and while I think that in his own, unique way, he's cute, he's also sly and rather devious. He's definitely the kind of boy Jack would get along with well (at least in my mind), and William, on his part, loves to be treated like an adult (which is what Jack, who doesn't have much experience with kids, would do, IMHO).

Jack certainly feels attracted to Elizabeth; this kind of scares him, and he tries to ignore it, but he won't be able to go on like this forever. Furthermore, he's in more trouble than one might imagine ;)

Elizabeth is a different story ... she is married to Will, they have a child, and I suppose she would find it increasingly difficult to admit that she may feel attracted to another man. And, truth be told, at this particular point in the story, she doesn't even consider it. But things might change, of course!

Thanks again,
Anne

Hi!Sorry for commenting again.I forgot to mention how much I like the scene with young Jack.I can imagine him being a child like that.It must have been hard for him without his parents even if some people cared about him in some way.The young master is suspicious to me.Isn't he young Cutler Beckett?

Never be sorry for commenting - your feedback is always much appreciated! Jack's childhood will remain somewhat of a mystery until ... well, you'll see! But he wasn't exactly an unhappy child all the time, that much I can tell you. About the Young Master ... well, I won't give that away, either. Mean, I know ;)
