Celebration V and Costuming

Alright guys, here we go.

I'm going to Star Wars Celebration V in August.  It's decided.  I'm also working towards a few costumes.

The first is Asajj Ventress.  I'm in the concept stages and I'm getting a lot of help from Flagship Eclipse.  They are an Extended Universe (though Asajj is technically canon) costuming forum.  They are also a branch of ( Read more... )

To give yourself a bit more volume -- if I'm reading this correctly -- you may want to make an underskirt and overskirt. Just make sure the top layer is of a lighter material than the lower ones.

I'm actually looking for a lot of movement in the skirt. There is an over-skirt from some of the concept art. I'm going to see where the main skirt takes me before trying the smaller skirt. Check out this image.

Y'know, the skirt in that concept art almost looks like hakama! I'd totally use hakama or make something like it, but you can get them at a pretty good price. Hakama, put a billowing scooped half-skirt over it, find a nice skin-tight shirt to embellish -- maybe this type, to stay warm -- sewing the different types of... Hmmm. I think I know how I'd do that. Want me to toss you some sketches?
