I pretty much smiled throughout this! I did get a little teary-eyed during "slut fight," though. I just loved it so much....I'm going to leave better feedback after I re-read it

Mostly I just have a way-too-clear memory of high school, I think. But dude! Dude! The main point of this response is that I love that kicked my legs and wiggled my toes feeling, and it is fricking awesome to cause it in someone else. I am all a-grin at the moment. Thank you for the comment, for real.

This is pretty great! It was way more of a downer than I was expecting it to be, but that isn't necessarily points against it or anything. Things I liked a lot include: the fight Frank and Gerard had when Frank was stuffed in the locker; Bob in general; the fact that Frank got bronchitis pretty easily but otherwise wasn't sickly or even wimpy (I really liked his propensity for brawling, it felt very right and was fun to read about); the closeness of Gerard and Mikey's relationship (though I felt it sometimes edged too close to cartoonish, particularly that scenes where they were verging on psychic); and the handjobs in the bathroom (seriously, really hot).

One thing I did not like was the way the narrative voice sometimes sounded more like Sinsense than Gerard. It occasionally pinged me that some of the vocabulary and phrasing was off for what would be expected of a teenager who appears to be so-so at school. In particular, I really feel that there's no way Gerard would describe his masturbatory fantasies about Frank as " ( ... )

I promised myself I wasn't going to look at my email, but I saw that you commented and took a look. LOLOLOLOL OH GOD YOU ARE SO RIGHT. Whoops. I suck, man. It's hard to avoid using my vocabulary even when I'm really into the narrative voice. Thank you for pointing that out; I'm going to try to be more conscious of that in the future.

Sorry it was a downer; I'm kind of ticked at myself for not rewriting the summary to reflect that. I struggle with summaries and getting them right to the story, and I think that the bad summarizing I do can affect the reading experience -- it probably makes getting into this story harder.

I'm glad you liked it in spite, it's always awesome to get your feedback and especially your concrit. And your acoustic YYY songs WHAT. xoxox

Whatevs, I just used "propensity" when I'm sure something smaller would have sufficed worked, so believe me when I say I am coming at that from a place of solid empathy. It was something I had to address when editing my own bigbang so it's an issue still on the forefront of my mind.

And hey, look at it this way: at least your bigbang summary this year was better than your summary last year :D? :D? THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM! and all that.

There are 3 other acoustic tracks where that one came from! There's a Deluxe Version of It's Blitz with a bunch of extra stuff, including that.
