When something hurts, that means that pain fibres have been activated-but touch fibres send indirect signals to the substantia gelatinosa in the spinal cord, and the substantia gelatinosa inhibits the transmission of signals through the pain fibres. So kissing something when someone has hurt it actually should make it feel better.

Trying to process this sentence hurt my brain. xDD But it was cute. Really cute. I'm just a horrible sucker for Silver Pair. Good job.

*giggles* Trust me, toss a little Latin into anything, and it makes it a rough concept to process even without my overlong sentences. *laugh* I'm sure you figured out what it means--just that when for some reason, something hurts, rubbing it gently actually helps lessen the pain.

*giggle* But thank you so much for enjoying this and thinking it's cute, even with the gratuitousness of the science. ^_~

I love this! Just...awwwwww. I love how you make them fiesty and frisky and incredibly hot, yet with this deep, ingrained sweetness. And for some reason the line Still the dash specialist, after all. made me grin like a doofus.

*laugh* I don't think the ingrained sweetness is any of my doing... Ootori and Shishido have that entirely on their own, and I have no control whatsoever over them. *sheepish* And you grinning over my silliness! Such delight. ^_^

Eee--I'm so happy you enjoyed it; thank you so much!

awww, poor Ohtori, bangin his knees on things. I'm sure he'll get his revenge on Shishido later that night...

i love timeskip boys, they're still so sexy! But kind of different too, and that's fun to explore. Also Shishido just waiting for Ohtori to give up the nice polite man routine XD

Since we were just on the topic of phrases the other day: Blonde = girls, blond = boys. So Jiroh = blond (unless you know something Ohtori doesn't....XD). The same is actually true of Brunette (girl) and brunet (boy), but it's MUCH rarer to refer to a boy as a brunet in english. In face, I don't think I've ever even seen it, only ever the girl kind.

I like explaining that one to people because everybody and their mother does it wrong, and i think the brunette/brunet thing is really interesting.

Eeee--thank you, dear! *chuckle* Oh, I bet Ootori's going to get his revenge later on... that's what beds laters are for, after all. ^_~

*laugh!* That's really interesting--I thought that the blond/blonde brunet/brunette distinction was only grammatical in French. Thank you--that's good to know! (Though now I have an insane urge to go back to all the Roommates fics and fix Jirou so he's, you know, male. ^^;)

Though the idea of Jirou actually being a girl strikes me as really, really amusing right now... wonder if Atobe would be pleased.

there should be AU fic where Atobe comes to school and Jiroh IS a girl, and heads up his fanclub and things, and at first Atobe is all about it, but after a few days he realizes that Jiroh can't be on his tennis team...not to mention is missing some things that atobe REALLY likes...not to mention the thought of what Fuji might do to a fangirl Jiroh who actually is a girl doesn't even bear thinking about...

...you should totally write that >->

I just stumbled onto your Silver Pair stories and I have to admit I'm getting very hooked on them. You have a lovely way of words and this particular fic is a wonderful balance of dialog and narrative. I loved the banter between the long-time partners and the familiarity and playfulness between them. The thought of Shishido being a morning person while Ohtori fighting to be his usual, polite self until he wakes up was hilarious as well as creative; I would never have imagined it and you carried the theme on particularly well.

Although all that neurophysiological stuff is beyond my comprehension (even after reading your explanation -- people actually have to learn this stuff??), I loved how you incorporated what Ohtori was learning in class to tease Shishido with it. And the nice zinger of “Choutarou… I’m really sorry to have to tell you this, but… I think it’s incurable.” Shishido shook his head, sadly. “You’re still a nerd.” was too funny, especially since it's so true ( ... )

*cough* I'm going to warn you now that long reviews actually turn me in a bouncing ball of ecstasy, which makes me ramble. I apologise in advance ( ... )

Long responses are even better than "long" reviews and I'm a very word person -- you've been warned!

I think it's great that you incorporate things that you're learning into stories as well. Sadly, I'm not that well-rounded or feel terribly knowledgable enough to do the same so anyone who can pull it off has my respect.

I've started slowly reading reading them in a frenzy after this fic and I love the Roommates series! It's amazing how well you got into each character's head and portrayed them so well. I'll be the first to admit I'm getting hooked, so you don't have to worry about disappointing anyone. :D

Oooh, oooh! So if someone just happened to offer you a prompt for AtoJir that you liked, might you be persuaded to write it? :D Seeing as I fail in writing myself, I'm always eager to push plotbunnies to those whom I trust will do justice to the idea.

...you can tell, by the lateness of my comment replies, that I left the country and didn't answer all my backlog of comments before I did. ^^;

So if someone just happened to offer you a prompt for AtoJir that you liked, might you be persuaded to write it?

YES! There's nothing I love more than to have plotbunny pushers. *does the bouncy fangirl dance of joy* I know that a lot of people find the writing process to be the hardest part, but honestly, for me, it's finding a bunny that makes me want to write it!

*chuckle* Though you do realise that means that I will be babbling and bouncing ideas off you like an absolute loon, right?

ha, Shishido bit him because he woke him up... there's definitely a huge difference between "morning person" and "woken-up before the time" person.
And "still a dash specialist" = awww.

Still, my favorite part was the author's note at the end -- I learned something!

Oh, definitely--I actually did have a friend who, according to his boyfriend, actually did bite any hand that tried to wake him up. *chuckle*

Eee! Your favourite part was the author's notes?! *laugh* I was totally thinking that people would take one look at them and go "Oh, gross, it's crazy biology stuff!" *feels much appreciated!* Thank you so much, dear!
