1. Reply to this post with the word PIRATES and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including this info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never ending cycle of icon glee.
I did this a while back when I was playing with my standard Sin'Vraal icon. In this age of millions of colors and pixels, it was sort of fun to play with those big, blocky chunks. Trying to make a readable image that says something with a very limited set of resources. I just love his pensive little yellow stare.
hyperbali's lovely drawing of my Shepard and Kaidan. I'm tempted to color it.
Another result of me playing with animated gifs. I used to play White Wolf's Werewolf game quite a bit, and it must be said that there was something deeply cathartic about pretending to change into an eight-foot wall of muscle, claws and teeth to solve a problem. My lack of cartooning skills is evident. My brain seems to be wired for go real or go home, much to my everlasting frustration.
This was a random picture from the internet of a tigress and her cubs in a zoo, and she was clearly not impressed with the cameraman. I just loved the expression on her face. The image needed a bit of cleanup to remove an out of focus cage link, but aside from that it's unadulterated. Nature says "back off, bitch".
Wrex's Rage armor is still one of my favorite designs. Stark and totemic, and the fact that it makes him look like a Master Control Program enforcer from Tron doesn't hurt.
I should really update this, especially since it dates back to when I was still painting screenshots for practice. Ironically, it works better as an icon than most of my artwork, because it has enough contrast to read properly in a small size. While there are tons of gorgeous Mass Effect icons that various people have made, I have this obtuse need to make something mine somehow. Having only 6 (now 15) icon slots makes me choosy, I suppose.
