In English, a paper tiger is something that looks scary but is not real!

"Pulloverchue" is hilarious. "Seeleschoggi" is charming!

There are plenty of others, except I can't think of them right now. It was just a note I found amongst all my other crap ;)

According to Wikipedia, the English meaning of ‘paper tiger’ is taken from some propaganda by Mao-era China. The Dutch meaning is closer to the German, it’s used - among other things - to describe rules and plans which are not put into practice and as such appear more impressive and threatening on paper than in reality.

Dutch has some amusing phrases as well, a caravan is sometimes referred to as ‘sleurhut’, a drag shack.
