Anybody know anything about laptops? Specifically what to do when the hinge cracks on one side and the joint becomes all loose. I swear it just looks like a cheap piece of plastic, but I'm worried it'll end up meaning I have to replace the whole screen or something.

This computer is only 2 years old. Fucking shoddy craftmanship.

This exact thing happened to mine recently, and... I don't know what to tell ya. I've just been really careful with mine; I don't take it anywhere and I never close the hinge anymore, just leave it open to prevent stressing it any further.

Someone told me you can call the manufacturer and ask them to send you a replacement part, but I don't really know what that would do for me, as it's basically a chip of plastic that splintered off the case. That might work for you, I don't know. Sorry, the best advice I have is "be careful with it".

That's about what I've been thinking as well. Darren suggested the Frag Center, but I think I'm going to have to start putting money aside before attempting anything.

Thanks though!!
