Little mosaics made by gluing popsicle sticks side by side (put ten side by side, run two at a right angle underneath to glue them all together) are fun. You can get little squares of tile, usually in bags, at craft stores.

How about a sticker book? Craft stores have TONS of stickers. Maybe he'd like putting stickers on things!
