Periodically I look back at technology and how things were when I was growing up to how they are now with the Bug. There have been amazing changes in the last 20 years - I can only imagine how he must have felt.
I remember years ago walking through the hospital in Glasgow. There were signs on the wall saying things like: "If you remember listening to '33s on a record player" and "If you learned to type on a typewriter" it's time to see your Internist. It made me realize how much things have changed.
The Bug has never listened to a vinyl LP, has never known a world where nearly everyone hasn't had a cell phone or a computer, or a world without CD/DVDs or cable. I remember when cable came to the town I grew up in, and I remember the first time I saw a VHS recorded movie.
Things have changed considerably and the world is a much smaller place because of it.
