Tonight, I spent the last two hours at my grandpa's place watching a really, really, REALLY, bad Chinese movie. It was low budgeted and of poor acting, but I couldn't turn myself from watching it. 1hr and 45mins into I, I decided that this was a BIG waste of time but I wanted to stick it out to see how the story ends. I mean, I wasted this much time already. Anyways, I got to thinking, I don't spend enough time with my grandpa. Him and I are really alike. Even in his old age, he's still a comedian. While the couple was lost in the "jungle" (they were pretty much in one spot with the camera circuling them), he kept insisting that the couple would be eaten alive by the snake. "Snakes aren't that big," I said, "there's no way it could eat them." His response was always a heavy laughter and then it was forgotten. Side note: by the way, my grandpa has short term memory lost, hence, the repetition of conversation and the forgetfulness. Like me, he also finds the humor in the smallest thing. Granted that the man resembled a turtle, my grandpa kept saying "The turtle is going to die. He's going to be eaten by the snake. Whoops, there he goes, he's dead." I thought his comments were hilarious! Who knew grandparents could be so entertaining?
Anyways, like I said, I really don't spend enough time with my grandpa. He has all these cool stories and lies to tell me that keeps me entertained for hours. Sure he's some times repetitive, but that's how stories stay with me.
