If a company finds itself in a position where it has to assign people to jobs *at random*, and *refuse* input, it's a sign of deep seated rot. And corporate stupidity. And a lot of other things.

I'm glad you were able to get the assignment that's right for you; I'm sorry that not everyone could be so lucky.
