Today I'm visiting one of our smaller, and newer holdings. They have a handful of newbies who've shown up for the first time. Okay flurb. I'm going to start calling you "Cloud". ;-)

Actually I am starting to have a new love for great weapons. Anything with real MASS that I can swing around. Seeing if I can put cracks into foam plank shields is also an excellent side benefit. :D

Yeah, SIBSs (Standard Issue Big Swords) give one an appreciation for the smaller, faster weapons one can employ. They also make you appreciate polearms, which I was rapidly becoming a fan of before my extended hiatus.

Heh. We have a guy at one of our newer parks that has a 6' great sword that he uses with a frightening amount of force. When he pulls it out - I think I'm one of the few with the balls (or just plain stupid enough) to run him down.

I'll borrow it and take it out sometimes for fun. But I'm really enjoying polearms now. Not JUST because I can use them to knock cocky shieldmen on their ass, but I like playing the part of a support fighter.

Once my 8' pole gets done, I'm going to start playing monk I think.
