The Kindness of Strangers...

Nov 21, 2004 08:33

Yesterday was quite the exciting day. I left home early to go to a seminar on learning to be a coach for Ultimate. The seminar was at a little private school, tucked away in a rather remote corner of the city. After taking two buses, I eschewed the third and started walking, hoping this would allow me to get there on time. I was only a few ( Read more... )

Wow, you're lucky the accident wasn't worse! Definitely go get that checked out, I've heard many people in accidents don't start really experiencing painful symptoms for several days. What was the parade for? You just have all the fun ;)

Could also be residual stress from the trauma. Might have been smallish, but still the body reacts the way it would to any trauma--forget what it's called. It's the "this doesn't happen every day and I'm stressed now" trauma. We learned it in busdriver training. We also learned that when things happen exactly as you put them, (at least in Ontario) the driver going through the intersection can be legally charged with "failed yellow" ie not stopping at a yellow--pardonable only if weather conditions make it unsafe to stop (do you guys have snow yet?). Not to be judgmental of your new friend, but I've often wondered what people are thinking when someone has to turn left against them and they try to beat the light. I see it here every morning when I walk to work and every afternoon when I walk home.

Yeah that makes sense. Thing is, she couldn't see that anyone was turning left against her, because of the traffic in the next lane. Frankly, she probably could've stopped and I did find it a little odd that she went through the yellow because it had actually been yellow for a while by the time we got there.

On the other hand, is it really a good idea to make a left turn on a yellow light? I know people do it all the time, but I didn't think that made it legal. I think they were both to blame to some extent, though it was probably more her fault than his. I don't really drive at all though myself.

Oh, and no there isn't any snow yet...remarkably.

What happened to Linguor? Where did his journal go? I miss it! If you have any idea how I can get in touch with him - please pass it along!

Whoah...says his journal was deleted?? That's kind of disturbing! And yeah, I miss him too! And no, I don't have any way of reaching him either. :( I hope this is just a mistake or something. Although he was kind of depressed. But he really liked LJ. Strange!

Yeah I knew that there was some connection between him and you but I wasn't sure what. So he was bothering you too? I didn't know that. I figured he was probably bothering other people besides me.

He used to send me a LOT of emails. If you look back in my journal, I wrote a couple of entries about him. It was funny for a while but eventually I just blocked them. The thing that I always wondered about is whether or not he's really crazy or if he's just pretending because he wants attention. Personally, I think he's just pretending.
