Uh...how does it shift without a clutch? Also...it shifts automatically, but also has a shift stick? I'm so confused as to the purpose/how of these features.
Same thing as an automatic, only you can tell it when to shift. This is good for if you want to remain in a low gear for pulling power (although, most automatics have that option), or if you want to use your gears to slow down instead of your brakes (what you SHOULD be doing in the winter, else you start sliding).
When slowing down, it WILL shift down automatically if you don't.
It's not the traditional type of shift stick. Think simpler. Push up and let go to go up a gear, push down and let go to go down a gear. Neutral's on the side, and if you go down from neutral (as in, go to neutral, push down), you can put it in reverse.
It won't shift automatically up. It WILL shift automatically down, if you don't.
(For instance, if you stop at a stop light, it'll shift down into 1st gear for you. Since you're not going to go anywhere far in 4th gear taking off from a stop light).
That sounds like a semi-automatic...except for the shifting on it's own thing.
Like some cars have the shifters on the back of the wheel, two on each side, hit one to shift up, hit the other to shift down. Or it looks like a stick shift but it only shifts up and down, not in the up, down, and over mechanism. No clutch involved. I'm pretty sure if there's no clutch and it's a stick you move up and down to shift, it's a semi-automatic.

Not a glorified automatic that lets you THINK it's a standard.
P.S. Make Tiger Butter.
