Same reason from Walter/Integra. I see Alucard and Seras as father surrogate/daughter figure (among other things). Volume 8 sealed this to me. They have zero romantic vibe in the Manga, likewise with WxI.
Besides, will you date the guy who shot your chest and kill you then gave you a choice to become what he hates and throws you to a life of endless misery where you constantly fear to lose yourself?
I don't think so. I usually like dark pairings (Esther/Dietrich <3), but Alucard/Seras mixes unhealthy dark pairings with family vibes. I like their platonic tie.
To be honest, I can't ship Seras with a man other than Pip. Likewise I don't ship Pip with a woman other than Seras. They are made for each others. "Perfect couple" like Hirano says.
Tv series wise, I can see some Alucard/Seras, I am indifferent there. But you ask me for Manga. Right?
As you know, I am with you on most of the Hellsing likes/dislikes. I liked old (good) Walter, but got bored with Guensche because of all the attention he was getting in the fandom. I can't see Anderson with ANYONE. I dislike all the m/m things that people come up with over there except maybe Schroedinger/Fat Boy (could happen) and Islands/Arthur (which sounds funny as hell). But...Pip and Seras belong together. Alucard/Int are OK platonically, not otherwise (Solid, Etc to the contrary).
I know Cowboy Bebop a little, and I am not at all tempted to mess with canon there. No m/m, and Spike/Faye is a definite NO. Yet I sorta like Faye/Jet. Poor Faye needs somebody to keep herself from crashing, and Jet is a deeply romantic guy who deserves someone.
I am seriously into Locas (Love and Rockets) these days, which is a shipper's paradise because there is so much sleeping around and gender-bending in canon. Terry Downe and Hopey Glass is my favorite ship there. Terry is EVIL, and evil people can be HOT. (I can see Terry with someone like
I can't see Alucard and Integra as platonic. Never. Unless by platonic you mean dripping degrees of UST where corpses and forest of the impaled are involved in twisted courting?
Well, I think there is a definite and very strong desire on Alucard's side, and some reciprocal stirrings inside Integra (in the loins, as Alucard says). But she's got it very firmly under control, and he knows it. It's not platonic in the sense of their being no sexual attraction, but in the sense that nothing can or will really happen.
