So, hello second semester of junior year. Why, is that a sledgehammer you're carrying? Perhaps in order to pound my morale into the ground or break my educational spirit? Oh, ok. Carry on, then. You're doing such a lovely job already ( Read more... )

HEY, I love Hallmark! And that's so untrue. Somebody in the Victorian age started the whole Valentine's Day card thing -- only people made their own at first. I remember when I was a kid, making them for my mom. With those paper doilies as lace. SO SEE? It was an "I love MOM" kind of day. ;-D

I think you have to get thru this school term to see just how much stress you can handle. Think about it -- if you wanna get in the 'hood, you gotta work just as hard if not harder! Let's not even go to a Ph.D. level.

I feel your pain. As you know. This semester is doing a really good job of breaking my spirit, making me realize how useless I truly am, and just making me feel unhappy in general.

Oh and don't forget, I need to figure out how to get a fricken internship for the summer, and for some reason nobody wants me. And I'm going to fail fluids.

And Valentine's Day. Do you remember valentine's day as a child? I used to love Valentine's Day. I never really realized it was about couples until recently. In school we used to have little paper bags with slots in them. Then everyone would bring in their Valentine's for everyone and put them in each other's mailbox (the paper bags). I for some reason always thought it was fun.

And so, I don't connotate Valentine's Day with negative things, and not just because I have a boyfriend. Having one doesn't make it really any better of a holiday. But yeah, just remember those elementary school times.

Yeah, in MY day we had skanky kids only giving out Valentines to people they wanted to in school. Guess who never got many at all, yours truly! By the time your generation was in school, the teachers *forced everyone* to bring one Valentines for *everyone* -- half of those came from skanky boys, remember? Good thing you had a fun Mom to tease you!! Thereby cementing those nasty memories. LOL -- sorry. Heh heh.
