Marvel RPG basics

Ok, without delving too deeply into the mechanics of it, this is a game based completely around a d100 system.  Powers, abilities, and skills revolve around 7 basic stats, called the FASE/RIP.  This breaks down to:

Fighting - How likely you are to succeed with a physical attack.
Agility - Success in range attacks, evasion rolls, etc...
Strength -

I'll need a bit more information. Are we using the Marvel Universe as it currently is, at some point in the past, or some other setting? This will influence what kind of character I might be interested in playing.

We'll be playing in an MU that never saw the SHRA. =) Other than that, it'll be pretty much the 616 you're familiar with. There probably won't be any real interaction though between your characters and established faces though. It's not about them after all, it's about you.

Does that mean M-Day, Secret Invasion and Dark Reign have all taken place?

M-day yes... SI I haven't decided on. Since the Skrulls used the chaos of the Civil War to really kick things off, it could still be in build-up mode. Dark Reign definately was a result of the SHRA, so no.

I suppose the key question is why are the characters together as a group?

The initial PC's will know each other in their costumed identites. Wheather they know each other behind the masks as well, I will leave up to your induvidual character creations. Heck, some of you might even decide not to have a secret ID at all and live in the open. I'll leave it up to a group vote before the game starts if you want to start as a team already, or work your way up to it. What I can say now is that you'll be a group of heroes in the greater Seattle area whom, for your various reasons, want to make your little corner of the world a safer place. If you guys decide you want to start out as a group, I'll come up with a group origin to be introduced in the early updates.
