Hey guys!
Jess and I have been vaguely working on a temp character plot idea and we need your help! The short version is this: within the next month, Jess is hoping to app Carcer Dun, the villain of Night Watch as a temp character. She's basically given me the reigns to organize the plot, so I wanted to put up a post with our thoughts and ideas for the plot and see who wants to be involved/what problems or issues there might be/etc. I was going to send out an email to specific people to begin with, but then I thought hey, why don't I just put up a post and talk to everyone at once? XD
Anyway.
A few things to keep in mind:
- As I said, Carcer is the main villain of Night Watch, a killer that Vimes chases (literally) across time and space. Carcer is charming, manipulative, and completely remorseless. He's a classic sociopath, but he doesn't necessarily come off as crazy when you look at him (though I think it's fair to say that pups who have dealt with sociopaths before would recognize it in him).
- Jess and I are super-duper flexible about this plot. She just wants a chance to play Carcer, I just want a chance to screw with Vimes' sense of justice. The plot ideas I've laid out below can be changed as necessary. We would both really like Carcer to debut on May 25th, assuming we can get everything together in time. Muahaha.
Here's the plot as we're imagining it at this point:
- Carcer appears on the island on May 25th. Vimes will pretty much arrest him on sight, even thought Carcer hasn't committed any crimes on the island. It will happen pretty publicly with Carcer doing much protesting of his innocence.
- Carcer will pretty quickly figure out that according to the Declaration of Rights, the IPD can't actually hold him for anything and will demand to be release. Someone will have to convince or order Vimes to let him go.
- Carcer will lay low for a while and be creepy and screw with people's heads. Like he does. Eventually he'll kill someone
- Vimes will be pretty sure that it's Carcer who did it, but he'll run an incredibly clean investigation so that he can prove it without a doubt.
- Carcer will be caught, there will be a FINAL SHOWDOWN, Carcer will be killed while resisting arrest. I haven't decided yet if Vimes will kill him or if someone else will.
Here's what we need from you guys!
- Someone to either convince Vimes or demand that Vimes let Carcer go. Vimes has told plenty of people in the past that he can't lock someone up who hasn't done anything on the island, but with Carcer it's, well, personal. It's a pretty big deal for him to disregard the Declaration of Rights (even though it's a rule he sort of hates) and will be a pretty big deal for someone to have to tell him to follow it.
- Various people whose heads Carcer can mess with, especially people who could be convinced that he's actually a good guy or people who would find him really creepy.
- A victim. D: Anyone have a pup they want killed off?
- Possibly someone who wants to kill Carcer if Vimes doesn't do it. I DON'T KNOW, I CAN'T DECIDE.
- Any IPD/squints/anyone else who feels like getting involved in investigation-y things.
