Too bad you never played Planescape: Torment, which is up there with Fallout as "Best RPG" ever. Fallout has better gameplay and sandbox stuff, but Torment has a better story and each NPC has a subplot that unlocks more advanced versions of themselves as you progress along it.

Unfortunately the Planescape setting now lives in WotC's "dustbin of history" and will likely never see the light of day again.

Because I'm sure you're wondering...Fallout 3 is good. It is a Fallout game, and is not a Fallout game all at the same time though. It feels mostly like a fallout game while playing it, however, you don't always have the ability to use whatever skills you want to when you want to. Whereas Fallout would just let you do what you wanted to do, and if it killed you then it was your fault...Fallout 3 prevents you from being able to do it. Like in the first town you get the optional job of using your explosives skill on a nuclear bomb, but you can't even attempt to work on it without an explosives skill of at least 30 ( ... )

I figured Andy was going to wait on buying it, so I figured I'd give him a quick little review of the comparisons between Fallout 1/2 and Fallout 3. The only reason I got it on release day was because I had the store credit to buy it.
