So today I applied for food stamps. Yup, slightly tragic - but all Americorps volunteers are automatically eligible. It took me a while to get used to the idea, I don't like the concept of someone else paying for my food. But at the end of the day, $1100 dollars a month goes very very quickly. We completed the first half of the school garden today, digging up a plot and amending the soil. Its beautiful. Where there was once dry desert dirt there is now rich black soil. Holy guacamole, I haven't had the actual flu since I was littttle, and now the motherfucker has come back with a vengence. I have every symptom in the book, such FUN! Blergh blergh, back to couch with tea and crappy daytime tv.

ps. One of our family friends moved into a new place....guess who got all of her amazing, funky antiquey old furniture? MOI.
