I remember watching you on the news growing up when I was a kid. He read the news on channel 9 since the 70s.

His son died in a plane crash just recently, and how he's become a victim of the bushfires, along with his wife.

I don't believe this is happening!!! Are the fires seriously that overpowering that fire fighters can't get at them or they just explode houses?? I'm seriously curious as to how people don't evacuate or get out in time.

These are intense like you wouldn't believe - people are evacuating, but it's not fast enough. especially in towns where there's only one way in and out. I heard from a mate who's a firey that in some areas, the fires are leaping twenty kilometres a minute!!!

Try and out run that!

Keep in mind the weather late last week was close to 50 degrees (122F) with 100 km/h winds (60 mph) - not a good combination.

Oh, and think of the perspective in this way.

Imagine all of England on fire with heat and hot blasting winds. Now try and put all of that out with all the firefighters you have.

There is no way on earth you'd ever win...
