Friday Five: Fixing Things
1. Are you good at fixing things?
Not really. Simple things are possible but more often than not I get a bit overwhelmed and just buy a new whatever.
2. What kinds of things can you fix?
So I can do minor sewing. And I could probably fix simple things like a piece of jewelry. I have fixed a faucet and replaced one which was a big deal to me. Let's see... I think most of my real fixes are technical. I can usually figure out what is wrong with your email or computer but more mechanical or intricate things are a no.
3. Is there anyone in your family who is good at fixing things?
My cousin Isaac. He replaced the water pump in my car. He replumbed his home. And now he's building onto his home. He's never done these things before but he just watchs how to's and then can do them. It is crazy! He built this wall on his property to help keep coyotes out of his chickens. He had wood left over and decided he could build a table. I guess that isn't all fixing things but he can if there is a video.
4. Has anyone ever taught you how to fix things?
Not really. Anything I've fixed, successfully, I've had to figure out on my own.
5. What was the last thing that broke in your home?
Our microwave. That was because of a power surge though. Power company kept turning power on and off so eventually it killed it. Didn't even attempt a fix. Electrical things are a definite no. Thankfully it was the microwave and not the frig or our big freezer.
