I don't think it applies to EVERYone, though

bcuz you can know someone for a while and not know their weaknesses, but still know you can trust them

nope. this applies to everyone. and it would be foolish to trust someone completely without seeing their weaknesses. I am not saying to seek it out or exploit it but so that the relationship will stay on the same level (the one person knowing more than the other person knows about them)
