Where I'm at physically and financially...Doom, doom, doooom.

It's Sunday and I am kicking back with a small bowl of tortilla rounds, TJ's salsa and a can of coke.  Granted, the chips don't have globs of melted cheese strewn across them like yesterday, but these are the things that get me in trouble when I'm trying to shed the pounds ( Read more... )

I figure I'm going to spend money anyways. It happened when I stopped smoking. Instead of socking away the $6 + every time I craved a pack of smokes, it was spent on something else - probably food.

I like dining out, but I need to limit it to special occasions or set a budget that I will stick to. Spending a ton of money on food is just not worth it to me in the long run, and besides, it packs on the pounds.

I saw one of your posts that indicated you wanted to see more of what people are doing rather than thinking about when it comes to healthier lifestyle choices. I agree. There are a lot of good ideas, but few people are taking action to make it happen.

Thanks for the advice :)

Make up your mind to do it, but it needs to be your priority, and if you want big results, it's gotta be practically a second job. I know you've been there before so you know the formula that works for you ( ... )

You have a lot of good ideas and to tell you the truth, they aren't new to me. It's a great reminder though of the things that do help us keep on track, but they are useless unless they are put to work.

My biggest issue is not taking action even though I have a good idea of what to do or where to start. It is that initial momentum and motivation that I have the toughest time with.

I will say that I have since joined a gym and found that their schedule is flexible enough (24 hours) to not allow me to make the "they are closed" excuse.

I know that you are also on a journey to bettering your health and I want to congratulate you on your efforts thus far. I know its tough, but keep it up. Getting to that point where it becomes an automatic part of my life - something that feels wrong if I go without - is what I ultimately seek in this latest adventure.

To sum it up - I eat too much, exercise too little and spend too much money on things that are very, very dispensable (I spend around $300 on dining out).

This is so me right now.
