Reading List

Please list one book you think everyone should read. A short reason why would be good, too. I want to make my own "required reading" list. If you can't think of just one, two is permissable. When I come up with mine, it will be in a future post.

I have a few...

John Steibeck's Grapes of Wrath : due to the historical aspects, the narrations, and the descriptions
Neil Gaiman's Short stories collection: A delightful delectable delicious conncoction of stories
Perks of Being a Wallflower: great story for teenagers and such of our youth. Rather poignt and moving
Phantom Tollbooth: educational, and fun!

Interestingly enough, I haven't read the first, but I have read and loved the second. ^^

Not my favorite, but ... anonymous October 13 2006, 08:02:59 UTC
"The Prince" by Niccolo Machiavelli. You shouldn't nessecarily do everything it says, but you should be aware that others might. Funny, I'd forgotten all about it until that funny coincidence during the Phoenix trip.

Also, everybody should also see "Hamlet" and/or read it.
