So in the past two days, i had a weird e-mail, and a good snail mail letter!
So, I submitted my application materials for the university of Alberta on Monday for a due date of the 1st, including an online application. The application told me i would be recieving a "beartracks" account number and password to track my application process. I got that e-mail, and shortly after, i recieved an e-mail including a 'campus computing id". . . in other words, an e-mail address and password. I just applied, and the university gave me an e-mail address? I was a little confused and excited, but i guess it is just a regular admissions practice, as my beartracks account says they will use that other e-mail to contact me about important things.
So, that strange thing aside, the happy news:
I am out of town visiting my boyfriend this weekend, and i got a text message from my mother (3 hours after she sent it, ugh!) saying i had mail from the University of Rhode Island admissions office. They had me include a self addressed stamped envelope and a notification sheet that they would theoretically send when they recieved all of my addmissions information. A friend, who just started there in the Library Science program a few weeks ago, told me she never recieved this mail, just her acceptance letter. So, of course, this text message excited me, but it was nearly midnight, so i figured she had gone to bed. I texted her back, asking if it was an official university envelope. To my surprise, she was awake, so i called and had her open it. I was accepted! They also didn't give a date to have me respond by, so I should have plenty of time to hear from the other schools. It is just nice to know i have gotten in somewhere!
