Library School Stress!

Feb 19, 2007 17:42

I finally got a hold of my MIA recommendation writer: she had bronchitus (similar to my horrible period of death illness, it seems) so may have thought she responded to one of my e-mails but had in fact, not. I'm just glad there is an explanation and that everything is sent. I just have to wait for the schools to get everything sorted well enough ( Read more... )

I'm glad you got that figured out, with the letters! That is so stressful! I would have been freaking! I meant to comment before when you told me that whole ordeal before. That is SUPER nice of them to tell you of your mistake with the letter and offer to forward it. I'm kind of shocked about it, even!

Edmonton is cold in the winter, there's no denying that. But otherwise it is not too bad (granted I am Canadian, maybe I'm biased, I don't know what kind of temps you are used to!). Edmonton is quite small town, I definitely prefer Calgary when we're talking about Alberta cities but what can ya do ;)

My Alberta status says "Decision Pending" if that helps at all...once all your stuff is in, that's what it changes to I think.

But.. there is an Ikea in Edmonton! I'll ignore the fact that it is a day and a half's drive away from where I live now ><. I am from Virginia. . . Which is on the mid east coast of the US. It is.. i guess the best thing to say is temperate here. 80-90s (F) in the summer and humid, 15-30 in the winter, though the past 5 years or so have been really warm winters, so now that it is actually cold and icy, I am getting worried about being in cold places. But, I don't want to live in Virginia anymore!

Haha! I work like, a minute away from Ikea right now. In fact I can almost see it out the window!

15-30F is pretty cold, isn't it? I'm bad with F temps, but isn't 32 freezing? Where I'm from (Vancouver) it is rarely below freezing for more than 2-3 weeks of the year, so I don't know if I'd be able to handle Edmonton either...I hate the cold! It's around 45F here these days.

D^8< Hey! You're not allowed to leave VA unless you're coming to Colorado. Weather here is much like DC's: moderate summers, cold to moderate winters. Pritt-tee nice. Plus there's like...mountains...and stuff...

Rutgers does that to me sometimes, too. I PANICKED when I tried to check my last semester grades, because everything I tried to log into--even my Rutgers e-mail--said I was NOT A VALID STUDENT that I had been DEREGISTERED!!!! A couple hours later, everything was working. Partly because it's such a big school, such a HUGE network, things get mixed up a lot. So don't worry, their system was just being silly.
Actually I saw a flier today that they were redoing something on the 18th, and that a lot of services would be temporarily down, so maybe that's it.
My last-year roommate applied to Toronto. She wants to study Medieval art...I think. She loved it. It seems the Canadian schools are really nice. But I know what you mean about the cold. Brr.
