First trip to New Brunswick tomorrow. I'm taking the train and getting around by foot once i get there. Trying to navigate new places in the car stresses me out, so I figured i'd be best off walking, at least this first time. Especially considering some of the weird driving rules I'm not used to. Right now, my biggest worry is getting a little ( Read more... )

I'm hoping to make friends, but I am awfully quiet, so i will probably just end up back in my (really nice) hotel room.

Those aren't mutually exclusive.

How was it? Are you still up there? I'm finally moving my bed down there tomorrow so I can start staying there more regularly. Because of the whole internship-losing-grant-used-to-pay-me thing I'm working in North Jersey and not living in New B this summer - don't remember if I told you that or not.

Yeah, you told me you were living at home. haha, beds are helpful. Currently the plan is to move sometime around about the 25th of August. I'm seriously nervous, just because i know no one. Well, except you.

So how was your first trip there?
The 24th is my last day of work so I'll be not commuting to North Jersey around the same time you move in. You'll have to come over for dinner at the picnic table in the back yard! I'll introduce you to whoever is around, like my housemates or something.
I hope your first NB encounter went well. It seems a little...oh there's no way to soften it, the city seems pretty ghetto when you first move in. But it's a lot of fun. There's always something new to discover (like much of New Jersey) and I really like it. If a country bumpkin like me can adjust to this city, anyone can.
