S
o on Sunday, my family and I (along with my best friend, Julie) went to the Vietnamese flower market in Little Saigon to get things for the New Year that is coming up next Sunday. WHOO!
This was the outfit I wore for the day.I pulled my Bodyline skirt up to under my bust along with a black top with a hoodie. And paired that up with black shoes also. That made my legs hella long. lmfao. It was very exciting.
God my brows look so gnarly |'D But just ignore that for a sec.
We got white chocolate butter cup and watermelon lychee boba at the specialty drink store called Honey Bee. Onomnom it was soooo good! I also broke out my new heels. OH GOD THEY WERE SO FUCKING PAINFUL. It wasn't even funny. lmfao.
So very gorgeous. But it made me feel like my feet were on fire everytime I walk. Plus I completely lost all feelings in my toes later on in the day. H-hahaha So I don't think that was very good.
Food court pictures are always very exciting.
Okay. So like the food court place had these weird...really creepy doll things as decoration...and while pretty. They're kind of...
:T YOU KNOW??? Like. It was just creepy
But anyway. It was a lovely and gorgeous sunny Southern California day. Excelent for an outdoor flower market!
What Vietnameses do is that for Tet, our New Year, we buy flowers and plants. Because for one, it decorate the house and make it festive. And two, it actually is believe to bring luck because it's a new life for a new year. Back when I used to live in Ha Noi. We had many open air markets very similar to this. The most popular flowers are: cherry blossoms, plum blossoms, orchids, chrysanthenums.
There are also fire crackers! Are they legal?
...probably not.
BUT THEY'RE SO FUN IT'S OKAY!!
My family and I later went to Ha Noi restaurant where they specialized in Northern Vietnamese style food. ; 3 ; I was feeling very very homesick. Hahaha. There was a cool fish tank with a shark!!
How cute~!
So that basically was my Sunday. As if that wasn't enough, that night, Julie and I set to work on my fem Korea cosplay. Haha. It was a productive evening! And cause it was getting kind of late, she slept over and we watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. Oh RJD!! And it kind of made sense because today we were off again on another adventure!
Yesenia and Omar, two friends from high school who also go to community college invited Julie and I on a trip today to the UC Irvine. So I packed a lunch...which randomly became kind of important later on. Hahaha. The trip itself was okay. It wasn't that exciting. IT WAS SO QUIET! It was a quiet campus. Gorgeous. But quiet. I didn't get any pictures cause I'm stupid. lol
But what was silly was what happened AFTERWARD. Apparently Yesenia locked the keys to her car....in her car....
Time for some inappropriate reaction shots!
But this really nice UCI student helped us call the campus police to help us get the keys out. Buhyooo so nice!
So after getting the keys out! We were off to....kill time somewhere else! So we decide to go to Huntington Beach along the Pacific Coast Highway. Or the PCH as it's known.
Yesenia's car is a 1989 Jaguar. So it plays TAPE!!! WOAH!!
OLD SCHOOL!!!
So we got to the beach and parked next to a meter. Cause we couldn't afford the $15 parking fee in the real lot |'D SO EXPENSIVE!!
But the beach was gorgeous! And nobody was there...!! (Couldn't blame them...it's February...lol)
Tee hee~~ I was the only one in my group who actually jumped into the water and played around. The others were too "shy" to jump in. The water was ICE COLD!! AAAAH. I tried tying my skirt up but it still got wet anyway :(
But overall. It was a really nice relaxing day at the beach! Julie and I even collected some really pretty shells. Hahaha. I think I accidently left it in her bag though.........I should go take some of mine back later.
Yeah yeah. Thighland. I know.
I had to walk back to the car shoeless later though :( Cause I was wearing boots....and I had wet sandy feet. Hahaha.
So then our group just drove back home. We stopped by Costco to eat some churros cause we're poor college students. lol It was a really nice day though, not gonna lie. It was nice just chilling with friends and not really having a schedule.
I'm going clubbing on Thursday and Tet is on Sunday......so I think I'm gonna write another mega picture-y entry soon...lol
