[Edgeworth is not being the worst sport about going on rides. He's done a couple. But that's not going to keep him from breaking off occasionally to brood.]

[A nod. He know she's still furious at him and most likely won't answer, but he nevertheless has to ask:]

How much sleep are you getting as it stands?

[She does answer politely, as evasive as it is.]

An adequate amount. There's certainly enough hours of darkness to have it in, that's for certain.

Franziska, this is not court; I'll not receive a penalty for badgering the witness. Kindly simply tell me so that we need not go through the rather embarrassing process of me asking until you become frustrated and answer.

Do you expect me to know the precise moment at which I fall asleep? [...] I will just say that the length of time I lay still with my eyes closed has increased lately. Anything more detailed could only be inaccurate.

It could have increased from half an hour to an hour; while the latter amount would be an improvement, it would still concern me. Surely you have a rough estimate of the number of hours.

[A raised eyebrow.]

You would consider an inability to fall asleep an improvement? And here I thought you were a fan of wasting time ... my, Miles Edgeworth, I'm impressed.

[Still avoiding the question, of course.]

I mean that the amount of time you sleep might have increased. Tell me how long you sleep. Please.

It fluctuates. What, do you want me to calculate an average? Keep a dream diary while I'm at it? [An irritated noise, and she turns her head.] Next you'll be asking me to keep records of what and when I eat. I'm not the one anyone needs to be fussing about, I assure you.

Stop avoiding the question.

What does it matter if you're killing yourself with exhaustion?

I'm not.

From what you've told me, I don't know that.

Don't you trust me?

I do trust you. That does not mean I completely trust you to tell me everything that goes wrong with you.
