She wasn't sure if she did the right thing. But as particularly painful as this was going to be to watch, maybe she would find out. The producer was sitting down, cross-legged, listening to everything that was being said.
If anything, this could be her way of giving Tom a chance.]

However, she's surprised to see Rochelle in the gallery, and not in the lobby as she would have expected. Quietly, she approaches the other woman, trying to figure out what she should even say in this situation. Perhaps understanding what's happening is the best way to start.]
Ah, hello. You're not testifying?

Oh.]
Jesus.

My apologies. I didn't mean to frighten you. So ... why are you up here?

You scared the shit out of me... [Her hand went down, and she leaned forward to rest both hands on her knees. Brown eyes first glanced back to the trial itself, then Franziska.
They never stayed on Franziska long, always wandering to this place and that place.]
No, I'm not testifying. But I thought I could at least--[Pause.] See how it all turns out.

[Here, her fingers stroked the handle of her whip absent-mindedly, although she made no move to wield it.]
Yet, the courts here are surprisingly less tolerant of unnecessary noise than the ones back home. [Which meant that she'd been reprimanded for such behavior recently.]
But what I meant to ask is ... you're not testifying yourself?
[It was a sensitive topic, to be certain, but ... if it had all happened to Franziska herself, she knew she would be hell-bent on making sure justice was served. Legal culpability or not, the man was clearly a threat to society.]

So ignoring anything about the whip, she only answer Franziska's question. Short and sweet.]
No.
[... Okay, maybe Franziska deserved a little more information.]
But Godot asked me.

And you refused him. Why?
[She paused, then, and after a moment, found herself adding:]
If you don't mind me asking.
Reply
I don't mind you asking if you're not going to try and convince me out of it.
[But it was a little late for that.]
Reply
... Even if I wanted to, I couldn't. I wouldn't force you into anything. Not for a case like this.
[While she couldn't be sure if that was entirely truthful, Franziska felt as though they were the right words to say.]

I didn't realize.

[She looked down. Quiet again. Unsure of what to say.]
... I didn't know what to do.

[A pause, and then she looked away, her gaze becoming somewhat distant.]
-- it's hard to know what to do in such situations.

[That was all she said. What else COULD be said? Describe what it felt like to have one of your best friends hurt you? Her thoughts and secrets and emotions throughout the whole thing? Ask if she was doing the right thing? Neither testifying for or against Tom, she found herself in the middle. Figuratively and literally in the middle. She was angry for what happened, believe her. She was PISSED. But at the same time, he had been her FRIEND. One of the first friends she ever made here. And even then she didn't know if she could believe the circumstances and this whole "Harry" thing and...
She squeezed her eyes shut.
She didn't know what to do. She didn't know what to do. She didn't know if she had decided was the right thing and she just didn't KNOW.]
I just--I didn't know...

You ... you didn't know what?
