[It's with some trepidation that Franziska approaches Miles at the conclusion of the meeting; she almost wants to retreat now while she still has the opportunity to, but not only would that be breaking a promise, it feels weak. After all, she has to prove to him that she's making the right decision, that she can take care of herself -- at the same time, however, she hates that she feels so obligated. She still considers this conversation unnecessary, in a way.

She approaches him quietly; her whip is nowhere in sight and the forearm of her dominant hand is bandaged up - a reasonable excuse for anyone who doesn't know she can whip with both hands, but not one that will work on Miles Edgeworth. No, he won't be as easily fooled.]

Miles. You wanted to talk.

I would have thought that eventuality would have been implied by what I said earlier.

Not necessarily. Soul-searching, as it were, does not mean by definition finding a new career - and indeed, the process may take a year or more. You might have to find interim employment even while soul-searching.

[A slight pause, and then a nod. He begins walking once again.]

[She picks up the pace too, now trying again to match his perfectly. However, when he asks his question, she quickly averts her gaze for a moment before looking at him properly once more.]

A cafe, I'd hope, at the conclusion of this walk.

[Knowing, however, that he won't be satisfied with the glibness of her answer, she adds:]

There's really no need for you to worry about me.

[Edgeworth frowns at her sense of humor, but nods in acknowledgment of her actual non-answer.]

And yet I shall regardless. Shall I take your answer as no?

[The coffee shop is on their left. He nods to it.]

You can take it exactly for what is, a statement meaning that I don't particularly feel the need to discuss this with you at this moment in time.

[That being said, she heads towards the coffee shop, and wrenches the door open.]

[She whirls around to face him then.]

Would you please tell me why you're so insistent on wheedling a more definitive answer out of me?

Because it's a completely reasonable question to ask. It's a simple yes or no answer, Franziska: do you have any idea, or no?

Are you trying to insult me by asking such an idea? Of course I have some idea.
