[Roxas is more than a little nervous as things get started. He can take or leave the poetry itself, but this is the first new thing he's done as Kahve's owner, the first step out of the routine. He really, really wants it to go well.

And as the slam gets started, it seems that it will. Roxas is happy to stay behind the counter and make people's drinks, but he keeps an eye on the stage and the crowd, too, ready to jump in and help if he's needed for something.]

[And out of the small crowd comes Sora, shuffling between customers and moving up to the bar to get something for himself. With the slam underway, most people are already settled in at a table with their drinks. All except for a lone few, Sora included. It's in that small window of opportunity, in which Sora is the only one in line, that Sora finds himself face to face with his other.]

[He's got a half smile, awkward as the atmosphere has suddenly become. But he's sticking it out, just like he told Ven he would.]

Hey.

[He'd half-expected to see Sora. It's been a few weeks since they talked, and the slam is a good reason to be in the same place. Still, things had been busy enough that when Sora does show his face, Roxas blinks in surprise.]

Hey.

[So what next?]

...you want something to drink?

Oh yeah. [That is what he came up here for, after all. Get in the game, Sora.]

[Hmmm... He's not really into coffee, but...]

Got any recommendations?

First time here.

[But Roxas already knew that.]

[Roxas nods. He does know.]

A caramel machiatto, maybe. It's more of a dessert drink. Or a cappuccino.

[Sora seems like he'd enjoy the sugar stuff.]

[He nods slowly. There's still no one behind him. He's not holding anybody up so...]

What about you? What kinda drinks do you like?

I mean, I heard you're not really into coffee.

[Roxas pauses at that. Who's been telling Sora about him?

Well...not like it's surprising that he'd be asking questions. And he doesn't really mind.]

No, I do. I didn't when I first started working here, though. I didn't know anything about it.

I like regular coffee, but I don't know if you'd want to try it. Some people think it's kind of harsh. [Ven would never appreciate it properly.]

[Sora's only really had coffee with a lot. Of milk and creamer. And piles of sugar.]

Maybe I oughta give it a shot anyway.

[Roxas puts a little cream and sugar in his, but if it's light tan, it's gone too far.]

Sure. If you want to.

Mm. [A resolute nod. If that's what Roxas likes, then he'll take his word for it.]

I'll have one regular coffee, please!

[There's probably a bunch of different flavors and blends, even if it's just regular old coffee, but he'll go blind on this one and let Roxas pick.]

Coming up.

[Normally he's at ease when working the counter-he doesn't mind serving customers. But he wonders if it's just his imagination or if there is an extra undercurrent of awkwardness in this particular transaction.

Then again, when isn't it awkward between him and Sora? So he makes the drink, going for a blend that isn't too bold, just in case.]

Here.

Thanks! [He takes the cup into his hands. Folds his fingers around it, even gets a whiff of the stuff and... oh boy.]

[Another glance behind. No customers still. Hmm.]

You holding up okay over there?

[Roxas nudges the creamer and sugar jar over.]

It's fine. Things have settled down since the reading started. It's worse in the mornings.

[No way man. If Roxas says he takes it regular, he's gonna take it regular. He's all in, Roxas! All in!]

Morning rush, huh?

[Not monsters from the dark. Not heartless. Just zombies people getting their morning coffee before work.]

Staff's handling the crowd pretty well too.

[...Sora, you sorely misunderstand the meaning of "regular" coffee.]

That's when it's busiest.

[He scans the other customers and staff, making sure Hope's got everything handled on his end, too. But there's nothing else he needs to be doing right now. He's not sure whether that's disappointing or not.]

They always do a good job. Most people will, if you give them a chance.

[...Yeah, maybe.]

It helps. If they've got somebody worth proving themselves to.

[Things are still awkward... but they're working through it! You know, maybe he can do this.]
