[By the time everything had been said and done with the police and the ambulance, it had been almost four in the afternoon. She wasn't even sure where Vincent Nightray had slipped off to while she hadn't been looking, but that left her to stay behind and be a witness when the police report was filled out. The people in the ambulance had been less than kind - she wished Jack had been there instead - and they loaded up Fai's decapitated body with no trouble. Re-l wanted to tell them that, if he came back to life, his body would disappear soon enough but she just didn't think about it.

All of this ridiculousness was making her sick, quite literally.

She had been having headaches since partway through lunch but had thought nothing of it. Vincent Nightray was always more than enough to give her a tension headache but this was definitely different. It persisted long after everything had been cleaned up. She started to feel dizzy and sick. The EMTs told her she might just have been in shock and they kept an eye on her until the scene was cleared. When nothing came of it, they told her to go home.

That had been four hours ago. In that time, she'd gone back to the office to file away her paperwork and hadn't felt any better. In fact, she felt worse. When she finally pushed herself to make the walk home, she couldn't focus on where she was going. She started to go towards her old apartment with Daedalus and Vincent, stopped halfway through her trip, and then turned around to go back to her place.

The symptoms piled on as the sun dipped below the horizon. She actually had to dip into one of her alleyways to be sick, making sure no one saw her. (At least, she hoped no one saw her.) And once that was done, she just scaled the building and took to the rooftops, quick on her feet. She needed to get home and into bed. Whatever she'd gotten sick with wasn't going away anytime soon.

I need to call Daedalus. I can't...

Dizzy, she stopped walking and leaned against the roof exit of the building she was on. The siren sounded and Darkness fell, but she didn't even notice. She was too busy trying to think past the roaring in her own ears.]
