Speed is everything, Roxy. It doesn't matter how strong you are or how hard you fight. If you're not fast, then you will never win.

[Roxas is probably used to Jinx taking it easy with him. She always did have a soft spot for kids. But as far as she's concerned, this is war. He's her student, and she's going to treat him like she would any adult.

She stands in their makeshift training area in leggings and a tunic. Her shoes are solid platforms and her hair is thrown back in a bun. Unlike all the rest of these kids, she's unarmed.]

We're going to play a simple game. Try to hit me with your keything. Don't worry about hurting me. I'm your enemy. So you're going to try to hit me like your life depends on it, because it will very soon.

I have actually fought a battle before, you know. A bunch of them.

[But it's okay. This is just how Jinx is. He's not sure what she has in mind, but he knows she's tough, and she wouldn't be here if she wasn't sure, so he doesn't ask if she is.]

Ready?

[Without waiting for an answer, he charges, both Keyblades in hand. This should be interesting.]

[She rolls her eyes. His idea of a battle and hers were probably two very different things. When he charges directly at her, she stands there, unimpressed, until he's close enough to hit her.

Gracefully and swift, she jumps to the side, cartwheels out of the way, and grabs a small rock off the ground in the process. Casually, she throws it at him. Less retaliating in battle and more just to annoy him.]

Are you even trying?

[He pivots on a dime, ducking his head so the rock misses him-but only by a hair. It may have brushed a hair spike.]

Most of the people I fight are trying to back. What exactly did you have in mind?

Just try to hit me, kiddo. It's a pretty simple concept. Don't stop until you land a blow on me.

[She grins, then beckons him to come at her with a simple hand motion.]

All right. If you say so.

[He launches forward with greater speed this time, fully expecting her to dodge him once again. Roxas knows he's faster than she probably thinks he is, but that doesn't mean he's the fastest.

There's always the option of magic, but the objective here isn't to take Jinx down. It's to get better. If she can help with that, there's no reason to make winning the only goal.]
