June 9th | 4 PM | Underground Mall | Let me know if anything needs changing! dancing_pierrot June 8 2011, 12:16:31 UTC
[Franziska usually shopped alone, considering as it was far more efficient than undertaking the endeavor while accompanied, but she was, strangely enough, in no particular rush today, seeing as she already had all she needed for the moment. Besides, she had been known to make exceptions. On occasion. It certainly was no regular thing.

However, she had miscalculated the journey time to her destination by quite a bit, and so she had walked around for a while before finally stopping at the prearranged meeting point near the entrance several minutes before their exact specified time, waiting for her companion to join her.]

I was a prosecutor, of course. [It's still strange to phrase it with such finality - was a prosecutor, as though she would oversee another case ever again.] And yes, that's correct. I had been involved in a few high-profile cases involving actors back home.

[And had even been shot during one. Subconsciously, just before she quite realizes she's doing it, she's covering her right shoulder with her left hand again.]

Did you like the work, back at Los Angeles? Heehee? [Well, she must have, if she went into the field for at least a little bit here. Or was it merely a feeling of obligation? Hmm.]

Which case did you like best?

[Sarina noticed her hand gesture, and wondered briefly if she was okay, but she figured that maybe it was a nervous habit -- god knew that Sarina herself had more than enough of them.]

My favorite case wasn't one that took place in Los Angeles, actually, but rather one that took place in several countries and required my collaboration with Interpol.

But getting back to that city, I wouldn't say enjoyable so much as ... interesting. More complicated.

[She dropped her hand down by her side again, although it remained clenched in a fist.]

Several countries? Wow...that really must have been interesting, at the very least!

[She glanced over curiously.] If you had the choice, would you stay here, or go back? Haha?

[At that question, her the corners of her mouth turn down into a small frown. There was a pause, and once she did speak, her voice was heavy.]

It's no something I've given much consideration to, as it is currently outside the realm of possibility.

[It was only a half-truth; she had thought about it, but didn't particularly wish to speak on it.]

Have you?

Really? Most people I talk to say that they would go back, because of some duty or someone they need to attend to. As for me, though...

[Sarina went silent for a few moments, giving a faint smile as she walked on ahead.]

...there's no way I'd go back. Haha -- I guess you could say that I don't have much of a purpose to serve in my original world at all.

[Momentarily, she wondered if the reasons she didn't think about it much was because most of the people she cared about were either already here, or already dead, but she knew the reasons ran deeper than that -- it was not, however, something she cared to confront while meeting up for a haircut with a casual acquaintance.]

It's different for everyone, I suppose.

Yeah, guess so, heehee.

[Sarina wondered if she tried to pry too much with Franziska, but she had a naturally curious nature. Part of her was envious of the people who had better lives to go back to, because as far as she knew this was the better life. However, she tried to sympathize with people's wishes, as she felt she was being selfish to think in any other way.

Nearing the hair salon, she turned back to her companion.]

Well, here we are. Haha...does this place look okay to you?

So, I hear hitting the submit button is in these days :x Sorry! dancing_pierrot June 17 2011, 13:16:14 UTC
[Franziska, who had been developing the careful habit of trying not to pay very careful attention to her surroundings, frowned slightly as she forced herself to focus on the salon's interior.]

I'll reserve my judgement until we're inside.

Haha it's all good bb <3 deceptive_lulz June 17 2011, 18:08:07 UTC
[Sarina shrugged.] Fair enough, I guess. Heehee.

[Indeed, it certainly wasn't the fanciest place around -- it was pretty much your typical bargain salon setting. As she walked inside, Sarina glanced around, looking back at Franziska every now and then to try to gauge her interest in the place.]

Did you want to talk to someone, or...

[While Franziska was very well aware that the point to a salon was to cut hair, the hair piling on the floor after being snipped from the current patrons in the room was glowing lightly; with a slightly disgruntled noise, she rubbed at her temples and she wasn't sure if it was her imagination or not, but the glow seemed to fade slightly.]

How do you feel about going first?

Still unsure?

[Sarina gave a vigilant look back to Franziska, sensing her wariness in her selection of the salon. She gave a shrug in return, at first feeling confident that the salon really wasn't all that bad, but Franziska probably knew more about these things than Sarina did...was it really that bad here?]

Sure, heehee -- I'm usually on my own anyway.

[With a slight quirk of her lip, she turned around to talk to the lady at the register, asking for just a haircut today -- no eyebrow waxing was necessary today.]

It'll just be a few minutes okay?

Right. [Despite her doubts, she did her best to flash the other woman a smile.]

I'll just watch for now -- I still have to decide how I want it cut, anyway.

Well, okay. I'll see you in a bit, then!

[Giving Franziska a small wave, she walked off with her hair stylist to the farthest seat in the establishment. After around somewhere between fifteen and twenty minutes, Sarina finally emerged with a haircut that certainly seemed fine by her own standards, but then again her hair was pretty short as it was, so it wasn't like it was an issue to have it cut too short.]

Is this to your standards?
