[Mercy had been baking off and on since she'd volunteered. It helped that she didn't have to supply anyone with brownies right now, save herself, Anna, Harry and Peter. Moving in the middle of the baking hadn't helped, but she hadn't let that stop her.

She'd even taken a day off work, and now was working the bakesale. Most of her peppermint double fudge brownies were gone - unsurprisingly. Sitting in her chair, Mercy was reading a book on old Fae legends waiting for the next customer.]

You could say that. Several that are not terribly fond of me.

I'm okay, really. I technically didn't even know the guy. But I found his body back in the apocalypse and got to hear stories about him from the survivors he was with.

That's never easy. I've met a few things like that too.

[Mostly, hers were ghosts that she didn't understand.]
