Sector four street, late afternoon! tinderfoot August 22 2011, 02:30:38 UTC
[Tyrell had been going for a walk; he was between jobs again and thus found himself with a lot of free time on his hands. He missed his friends, he missed home, but what was he going to do about it? He was trapped in this place now, and in this place he was probably gonna have to stay. After all, all those people who knew more about this stuff -- people who had been deities back in their own worlds -- were trapped here. So what chance did a guy like him have?

This afternoon he's mainly people watching, but it can't keep him interested for long. He's far too restless.]

[To Tyrell, the answer to this is obvious; he'd always suspected that powers in this world worked just the way they did back home. And that led him to the conclusion that this boy wasn't used to dealing with other people who could also do magical things, to use the common word for it.]

Yeah, well, maybe you shouldn't go around reading people's minds, then. It's rude. [A beat.] Kinda cool, but rude all the same. I mean, sure, if I was doing something dangerous, then go ahead...

[He's starting to ramble, and he realizes it's because he's getting nervous. Why he is nervous? This kid's a little weird, a bit annoying, but if things get out of hand Tyrell thinks he should be able to handle him, but the thing that's unsettling him the most is simply the fact that they're talking at all. No-one really paid that much attention to his thoughts before, with or without asking him for them.]

... You might have been doing something dangerous. Like using up all the oxygen in the park to light your fireballs.

Maybe I was checking to see if you were planning that.

[except, for one, that was a beyond outlandish scheme; two, even the barest brush of minds proved the other would probably never do such a thing; and three, Shiroe was giving away his stance on it all (no, he hadn't been checking that) at the very start. not that his stance was ever really in question.]

[to the swell of nervousness, well, Shiroe just blinks. blinks and blurts --]

I still think you'd like to go for a run.

[- which was not quite as much of a non-sequitur as it seemed to be, but. he wasn't mentally connecting (wasn't digging deep enough to find) the fact that Tyrell was nervous over them talking rather than just having that old hidden restlessness resurface.]

[The statement's a bit jarring, especially in the way that it doesn't really seem to flow on from the conversation at hand, and again Tyrell looks behind himself just in case that there's someone else there that this boy could be reading the mind of instead. Yet, there remains no-one to be seen. The nervous feeling remains. It intensifies.]

Um. Yeah, look, I should probably get going.

[Shiroe grabs and pulls that nervous feeling (unconsciously), hands suddenly pulling at the hem of his shirt and eyes going to just over the other's shoulder. but what was he nervous about? ah, maybe his stomach --]

Are you sure?

[his voice is suddenly rather uncertain, for all that he's as far from an uncertain person as they get - he's not trying to be creepy, he's just honestly not positive of why or where Tyrell should be going. maybe because Tyrell himself didn't have a real reason to.]

[needless to say, his efforts at mentally pulling back still weren't going well.]

[Still honestly perplexed by the whole situation, Tyrell's forehead crinkles . Was there some sort of greater meaning behind this, or was it just one of those thing's that happened?

He shifts his weight from foot to foot, then speaks forcefully to cover up his uneasiness:]

Look, did you actually need me for something?

... I don't think so.

[his eyebrows furrow together, a frown on his face; but now he's the one inching back, one arm folding behind his back even as his eyes go off to the side. (so bipolar.)]

[there was something... --]

[he looked up, very quickly.] Do you know how to get rid of stomach aches?

Stomach aches?

[he bounces on the spot, confused about the irrelevant nature of the question.]

Maybe you're best of seeing a healer or something ... or what do they call them here -- doctors?

... That's a good idea. [frown, but then - smile. (definitely bipolar.)]

Thanks. I guess we can part ways now. [weirdo.]

Right. Okay.

[And with that being said, he turns to leave.]
